title: Security and Sessions
description: Review signed-in devices, end a session, and understand the account-deletion request.
---

The Security page shows active Runner sessions and the account danger zone. Use it to sign out an unfamiliar device or request account deletion with the required confirmation.

## What this covers

You will be able to distinguish the current session from another device, terminate the correct session, and understand that account deletion continues through an email request.

## Availability and prerequisites

- You must be signed in.
- **Profile** and **Security** are protected direct/legacy account pages. The current global avatar and Settings menus do not expose them.
- Use this page only when Runner displays an account-security entry or Runner support gives you an approved link.
- Ending the current session signs you out.
- Account deletion is irreversible after the deletion flow completes and affects all associated data.

## Entry path

Use an account-security entry supplied by Runner or an approved link from Runner support. If Runner has already opened the protected Profile area, select **Security** in that page's navigation. The protected page uses `/profile/security`, but do not guess or type that path as a way to discover hidden account controls.

## Security controls

| Entry or button | Why it is useful | What happens next |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Active Sessions count | See how many sessions Runner currently lists. | Device rows show browser, operating system, and current-session status. |
| **Sign Out** | End the session you are using now. | Runner revokes it and signs you out after success. |
| **Terminate** | End another listed session. | Runner revokes that session immediately after the button succeeds; there is no second confirmation dialog. |
| Two-Factor Authentication | Review the current account-security section. | The present button is disabled and labeled **Coming Soon**; no setup action is available on this screen. |
| **Delete Account** | Begin permanent account deletion. | A confirmation dialog requires the exact phrase `DELETE MY ACCOUNT`. |

Session termination has no second confirmation. Confirm the row before selecting its action.

## End a session

1. Open **Security**.
2. Find the device by browser and operating system.
3. Check whether the row says **Current session**.
4. Select **Terminate** for another device or **Sign Out** for the current one.
5. Wait for **Session terminated successfully**.
6. If you ended the current session, sign in again only from a trusted device.

## Request account deletion

1. Read the Delete Account warning.
2. Select **Delete Account**.
3. Type the exact phrase `DELETE MY ACCOUNT`.
4. Select the destructive **Delete Account** button.
5. Runner sends an account-deletion email and tells you to check your inbox.
6. Follow only the verified email flow if you still intend to delete the account.

## States and limits

- Rows without a usable device description can display Unknown browser or Unknown OS.
- **Processing** means a session action is still running.
- A session error leaves the row active.
- Two-factor authentication cannot be configured from the current disabled screen.
- The account-delete form rejects any phrase other than `DELETE MY ACCOUNT`.
- A successful browser request reports that the deletion email was sent; check that message before assuming the next step.

## Troubleshooting

- If you do not recognize a device, terminate that row and review other active sessions.
- If termination fails, retry once after refreshing the list.
- If you terminate the wrong current session, sign in again; the revoked session itself cannot be restored.
- If the deletion phrase is rejected, match capitalization and spacing exactly.
- If no deletion email arrives, do not resubmit repeatedly; confirm the signed-in account and use support guidance.
- If no Security entry is available, contact Runner support instead of trying a copied or guessed direct route.
