Fly is a guided workspace for turning a store goal into a mission, reviewing proposed work, and following progress from one dashboard.

## Entry path

Open a store project and select **Fly** when it is available. If the entry is missing, see [Feature availability](./feature-availability).

## Before you start

- Fly must be enabled for the current project.
- Review the store, mission, and affected proposal tasks before approving work.
- Proposal, abort, and next-mission actions can change real project work; use the confirmation text as the final authority.

## Start the first mission

Projects without a mission open onboarding automatically.

| Control | What happens after you select it |
| --- | --- |
| **Start your first mission** | Reopens onboarding when the project still has no mission. |
| **Set this mission** | Creates the proposed mission for the current project and opens the Fly dashboard. Review the store and goal before confirming. |

Closing onboarding without selecting **Set this mission** leaves the project without a mission. You can return with **Start your first mission**.

After onboarding, **Get your first proposal** can open a read-only launch checklist. The card stays with active dashboard work while any launch-readiness step is incomplete or unavailable. Once every current step is complete, the card moves to **Past Work**; if a step later becomes incomplete, it returns to active work. When **View detail** appears on **Build storefront**, it opens the project's first Runner conversation. The button is absent when no first conversation is recorded.

## Read the dashboard

The dashboard brings the current mission and store activity together. On smaller screens, the same sections are stacked vertically.

| Section | What it shows |
| --- | --- |
| Mission progress | The active goal and progress toward it. |
| Orders, Revenue, and Sessions | Today's headline store signals. These are read-only summaries. |
| **Feeds** | Recent signals and Fly's current observations. Select a story to open its viewer. |
| **Ongoing work** | Approved proposals that are running or waiting for your action. Select a card to open its proposal details. |
| **Past Work** | Completed or failed proposals, plus the completed First Proposal example when applicable. Select a card to review it; **Show more** loads older real proposal entries. |
| **Your todos** | Tasks that need your attention. **Previous** and **Next** move through more than one page of items. |
| Store preview | Shows the current publish state when available. Select it to open **Store**. |
| **Open chat** | Opens the Fly chat so you can ask about the mission or visible work. **Close chat** dismisses it. |
| **All caught up** | Appears when no to-dos or proposals need a decision. It confirms that Fly is still monitoring the store; it does not mean every running task is finished. |
| **Explore Runner** | When the queue is clear, offers **Open Creative Studio** when enabled, **Browse Skills**, and **Explore Automations**. Each button opens that project tool without starting work by itself. |

An empty **Ongoing work** or **Past Work** section may be hidden. That means there is nothing in that state, not that project history was erased.

In Fly chat, **New conversation** starts a fresh thread, while history reopens an earlier one. The first message creates the conversation. If sending fails, the draft stays in the composer so you can retry without rewriting it.

### Read a Fly story

The story viewer shows **current item of total** in its header. Use the previous and next arrows to move between items, or close the viewer to return to the dashboard. When a story includes a linked source chip, selecting it opens that exact source in a new browser tab. If the story cannot load, select **Retry** without leaving Fly. Market-news cards can disappear after they are no longer recent.

## Review a proposal

Open a proposal from the dashboard before allowing work to begin. A proposal can contain several tasks; selecting a task can also include prerequisites it depends on.

| Control or state | What happens next |
| --- | --- |
| Task selection | Chooses which tasks to approve. Required prerequisite tasks are included so the selected work can run in order. |
| **Approve & Execute** | Approves the selected tasks and starts execution. It is unavailable when no task is selected. Connected actions can have real effects. |
| **Reject** | Opens a confirmation. Confirming closes the proposal and runs none of its tasks; this cannot be undone. |
| **Abort** | Opens **Abort this proposal?** while work is running. **Confirm abort** stops unfinished tasks; completed work is kept. **Keep running** closes the confirmation. |
| **Preview** | Opens the completed workflow result when a preview is available. |
| **View detail** | On a supported first-proposal task, opens the related Runner conversation so you can review the work context. |
| Waiting for your action | Execution is paused until you complete the requested manual action and select **Resolve**. |
| **Helpful** / **Not helpful** | **Helpful** saves immediately. **Not helpful** opens editable reasons and details; closing it keeps the existing feedback, and changes save only after **Submit**. |

Some review-stage proposal pages also show a proposal chat panel. Use it to ask about that proposal; it does not replace **Approve & Execute**, **Reject**, **Abort**, or **Resolve** when the applicable action is shown.

The **Outcomes** section stays hidden while a proposal is under review, executing, or being verified. It can appear after completion or failure only when outcome data is ready. A missing Outcomes section during active work is not evidence that the proposal failed.

For document and media outcomes, **Download** saves the available deliverable, **Restore media** retries unavailable media, and **Continue in Chat** opens editable follow-up instructions. These actions do not change the proposal's acceptance or review status.

When a proposal includes Fly video generation, the current task produces one 6-second 720p video with audio. Asking for another duration in the task prompt does not change that output length.

## Resolve a user-owned task

When a task marked **Your task** pauses for an action that only you can complete, read its instructions, complete the action outside the card, then select **Resolve**.

**Resolve** is your confirmation that you completed the requested action; Runner does not independently verify that outside result. While Runner checks the state, the card shows **Loading task action**. While it submits, the button shows **Resolving…**. **This task is no longer waiting for your action.** means it cannot be resolved from the current card. If you see **Couldn't resolve this task. Please try again.**, check the connection and try once more. Do not mark a task resolved before the requested action is actually complete.

## Resolve todos

Select **Resolve** only on an eligible one-click task. Runner then records your confirmation from the dashboard. More detailed tasks, including tasks with file outputs, stay read-only in the todo list; open the related proposal to review their instructions and current state.

If resolving fails, keep the task open and try once more after checking the connection. Do not assume the task completed until its status changes.

## Follow ongoing and past work

1. Open a card in **Ongoing work** to see its current proposal and task states.
2. If it says **Waiting for your action**, complete the requested manual action and select **Resolve** instead of approving the proposal again.
3. Use Abort only when unfinished work should stop. Already completed work is not rolled back.
4. Open **Past Work** to review outcomes and failed proposals.
5. For a failure, keep the proposal title and visible task error before asking for help.

## Complete a mission and choose the next one

When Runner recognizes that a mission is achieved, **Mission complete** opens a guided flow. If you close it before choosing another goal, **Choose your next mission** can reopen the flow.

1. Select **Review the journey** to see the mission recap, important moments, and work Fly completed alongside you.
2. Select **See what's next** to review the suggested next mission.
3. Adjust the target with the available preset or increase/decrease controls, then select **Continue**.
4. Read the rollout summary carefully.
5. Select **Begin Mission** only when the new target is correct.
6. When the next mission is live, select **Go to Mission Control** to return to the dashboard.

**Begin Mission** has real project effects: already-running tasks continue, proposal generation resumes against the new goal, and proposals you have not acted on are closed so Fly can regenerate them for the new target. Current progress carries over.

## Troubleshooting

| State | Next step |
| --- | --- |
| Onboarding opens automatically | Set the mission or close onboarding and return later. |
| Dashboard appears | A mission exists; use the dashboard rather than creating a duplicate. |
| **Waiting for your action** | Open the proposal, complete the specific manual action, then select **Resolve**. |
| Abort conflict or status changed elsewhere | Refresh the proposal and use its current state. |
| Completed preview fails to load | Select **Retry** in the Workflow Preview, or reopen the completed proposal for the latest result. |
| Proposal failed | Open it from **Past Work** and keep the visible task error. |
| Final verification cannot recover | The proposal settles as failed instead of remaining in ongoing work. Open it from **Past Work** and keep the visible error before retrying. |
| Next mission cannot start | Try once more. If another session already started it, the dashboard refreshes to the live mission. |
| Entry missing or page not found | Fly is not available in this context. See [Feature availability](./feature-availability). |
