Connect 4PX when you want Runner to use your 4PX account for cross-border shipping and
fulfillment. This connection requires both an API key and an API secret.

## Before you start

**Entry path:** **Project → Apps → Store Apps → 4PX**

You need:

- a 4PX account with a current API key and API secret;
- authority to use those credentials for the Runner workspace; and
- awareness that disconnecting removes both credentials and disables 4PX for every
  project in the workspace.

Treat both fields as secrets. Do not paste them into Runner chat.

## 4PX controls and results

| Control | Why it is useful | What happens next |
| --- | --- | --- |
| **Connect** | Opens 4PX setup. | Runner asks for **4PX API Key** and **4PX API Secret**. |
| API key and secret fields | Identify and authorize the 4PX account. | Runner only submits after both fields contain a value. |
| Eye icons | Help check a typing mistake in either field. | Each icon independently toggles that field between hidden and visible text. |
| Dialog **Connect** | Submits both credentials. | On success, Runner clears both fields, closes the dialog, and marks 4PX connected. |
| **Cancel** or close | Stops before submission. | Runner clears both fields from the dialog. |
| Delete or **Disconnect** | Starts removal. | Runner opens **Disconnect 4PX?**. |
| Confirmation **Disconnect** | Removes the saved credentials. | Runner disables 4PX for all projects in the workspace. |

## Connect 4PX

1. Open **Project → Apps**.
2. Find **4PX** and select **Connect**.
3. Copy the API key and API secret from the 4PX account you intend to use.
4. Paste them into **4PX API Key** and **4PX API Secret**.
5. Check that the two values are in the correct fields.
6. Select **Connect**.
7. Wait for **4PX connected successfully** and confirm the card shows its connected
   disconnect control.
8. Verify a safe cross-border shipping or fulfillment scenario before using it for a live
   customer order.

## Disconnect or replace credentials

Select the disconnect control and read **Disconnect 4PX?**. Confirm only when disabling
4PX for every workspace project is acceptable.

To rotate credentials, disconnect the current connection, confirm the card is no longer
connected, then reconnect with the replacement key and secret.

## If 4PX does not connect

- Confirm that the key and secret came from the same 4PX account.
- Re-copy both values instead of editing either secret by guesswork.
- **Failed to connect 4PX** means Runner did not finish the provider connection. Verify the
  credentials in 4PX and retry.
- If the card connects but fulfillment fails, check account access, destination support,
  and the order data required by 4PX.
- If disconnecting fails, assume the current credentials remain active.
