title: Connect CJ Dropshipping
description: Connect your CJ account with an API key and understand the shared-account fallback.
---

Connect CJ Dropshipping when you want Runner to use your own CJ account for sourcing and
supplier operations instead of the shared CJ connection.

## Before you start

**Entry path:** **Project → Apps → Store Apps → CJ Dropshipping**

You need:

- a CJ Dropshipping account and its current API key;
- authority to connect it to the workspace; and
- an understanding that disconnecting your key makes all workspace projects fall back to
  Runner's shared CJ account.

Keep the API key private and enter it only in the CJ connection dialog.

## CJ controls and results

| Control | Why it is useful | What happens next |
| --- | --- | --- |
| **Connect** | Opens CJ setup. | Runner asks for **CJ API Key**. |
| **CJ API Key** | Connects your own supplier account. | The dialog accepts a non-empty key for submission. |
| Eye icon | Helps check a typing mistake. | Toggles whether the key is visible. Hide it before sharing your screen. |
| Dialog **Connect** | Submits the key. | On success, Runner clears the field, closes the dialog, and marks CJ connected. |
| **Cancel** or close | Leaves without connecting. | Runner clears the key from the dialog. |
| Delete or **Disconnect** | Starts removal. | Runner opens **Disconnect CJ Dropshipping?**. |
| Confirmation **Disconnect** | Removes your key. | All workspace projects revert to the shared CJ account; existing products and orders continue to work. |

## Connect your CJ account

1. Open **Project → Apps**.
2. Find **CJ Dropshipping** and select **Connect**.
3. Copy the API key from the CJ account you intend Runner to use.
4. Paste it into **CJ API Key**.
5. Select **Connect** in the dialog.
6. Wait for **CJ Dropshipping connected successfully** and confirm the card shows its
   connected disconnect control.
7. Use a safe sample to verify product search or import before relying on the connection
   for supplier operations.

## Disconnect or replace the key

Select the disconnect control and read the confirmation carefully. Disconnecting removes
your CJ API key and changes all workspace projects back to the shared CJ account. Runner's
confirmation says existing products and orders continue to work, but future supplier
operations can use different account context.

To replace the key, disconnect the current one, confirm the card is no longer connected,
then connect the replacement key.

## If CJ does not connect

- Copy the API key again from the intended CJ account; do not edit it by guesswork.
- **Failed to connect CJ Dropshipping** means Runner did not accept the provider
connection. Check the key in CJ and retry.
- If the dialog closes without a connected card, refresh Apps before submitting again.
- If product search or import fails after connecting, verify that the CJ account can access
  that catalog or operation.
- If disconnecting fails, assume the existing key and account context remain active.
