title: Enable store email
description: Turn Runner's Email app on or off for transactional store messages.
---

The **Email** Store App enables transactional messages from your store when email service
is available for the workspace. Use it for store events that need an automated customer
message rather than a manual campaign.

## Before you start

**Entry path:** **Project → Apps → Store Apps → Email**

The card is labelled **Email** in Runner. You do not enter a Resend API key in this flow.
Availability can vary with workspace configuration, store readiness, and email support.

Before enabling it:

- confirm that you are working in the intended workspace;
- review the store's customer-facing email content where that editor is available; and
- plan to verify the complete email journey with an address you control.

## Email controls and results

| Control or state | Why it is useful | What happens next |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Loading indicator | Prevents changes before Runner knows the saved state. | The switch appears after the current setting loads. |
| Email switch off | Shows that store email notifications are disabled. | Turning it on creates or enables the workspace email connection. |
| Email switch on | Shows that Runner has enabled the email integration. | Turning it off disconnects the integration. |
| Switch loading state | Shows that the change is being saved. | Further changes wait until Runner succeeds or fails. |
| Success message | Confirms Runner accepted the setting change. | The switch stays in the new state. |
| Error message | Shows that Runner could not enable or disable email. | The switch returns to the saved state so you can retry. |

## Enable email

1. Open **Project → Apps**.
2. Find **Email** under **Store Apps**.
3. Turn the switch on.
4. Wait for **Email notifications enabled** and confirm the switch remains on.
5. If Runner tells you a new publication is required elsewhere in the product, publish
the latest store version before testing the live result.
6. Trigger an appropriate store event with safe test data and confirm the message arrives.

## Turn email off

Turn the switch off only after checking whether other stores in the workspace rely on the
same connection. Runner shows **Email notifications disabled** after the change succeeds.
If saving fails, Runner shows an error and restores the previous state.

Disabling the integration does not describe what happens to already-sent messages. It
only changes whether Runner can use the current email connection for future store events.

## If email does not work

- If the card keeps loading, refresh Apps before changing the switch again.
- If enabling fails, verify that email is available for the workspace and retry once.
- If the switch is on but no message arrives, verify the store event, recipient address,
message configuration, and latest published version.
- Check spam or filtering using an address you control; do not test with a real customer's
  order.
- If disabling fails, assume the previous state is still active.
