**Exact messages**

- Couldn't check the DNS provider

- Couldn't open automatic DNS setup. Try again or use manual records.

**Meaning:** Provider detection or authorization did not complete. Later DNS/HTTPS stages should not be assumed complete.

Retry the provider check when detection failed. For authorization, choose the DNS account/team that manages the exact domain and complete the provider flow. If automatic setup cannot open, use the manual records option where available. Review any existing DNS records before changing them.

**Success:** Runner advances past the failed stage and shows the next DNS verification step. Escalate repeated authorization failure with the provider, domain, and stage; never send credentials.
