title: "Publishing: code needs repair"
description: "Your store won't build yet, so it can't go live. Let Runner fix the errors, then publish."
---
**Exact messages**

- Your store won't build yet, so it can't go live. Let Runner fix the errors, then publish.

- Your store couldn't be built, so nothing went live. Let Runner fix it.

- Store publish failed

- Publish failed — your store isn't live yet

- A build error stopped your store from publishing

**Meaning:** Publishing did not complete. A build-specific message means the storefront code failed the build; the generic publish failure alone does not establish that cause.

Open the publish result and read its error details. For a build failure, use **Fix with AI** or give Runner the details, wait for the repair, check the preview, and then publish again. For a generic failure, retain the details and check the latest publish status before retrying. Do not assume a previously published store is offline solely because an update failed.

**Success:** Publishing reports completion and the public store URL shows the intended update. A green preview or a started deployment is insufficient. Escalate repeated failure with the publish time and details.
