Delete, Recover, and Leave

Understand Runner's store, workspace, membership, and account removal boundaries before confirming.

Runner uses different confirmation flows for deleting a store, deleting a workspace, leaving a workspace, and requesting account deletion. Review the exact scope before any destructive action.

English annotations: Workspace and store sections in Settings

Check the workspace or store scope in Settings before opening a removal action. This image shows navigation only; no deletion or recovery has been performed.

The annotations are in English. Select the image to enlarge it.

What this covers

You will know what each action removes, what confirmation it requires, and when conditional store recovery may appear.

Availability and prerequisites

  • You need permission for the item you are changing.
  • The last workspace cannot be deleted.
  • Store recovery is a conditional legacy feature. Use it only if Runner exposes Recently deleted and lists the store there. The current store navigation does not promise this destination.
  • Do not treat conditional recovery as a guarantee when approving deletion.
  • The current global avatar and Settings menus do not expose the protected account-security page. Use account deletion only when Runner or Runner support gives you an approved entry.

Entry paths and action map

Action and entry path Confirmation What happens after success
Settings → Store: store nameGeneral → Delete Type the exact store name, then select Delete. The store is removed. If you delete the current store, Runner opens another available store or the new-store entry.
Conditional multi-select → Delete selected Type DELETE, then select Delete All. The selected stores leave the active grid after the operation succeeds.
Conditional legacy store list → Recently deleted → Recover project No destructive confirmation; select Recover project. The store returns to the active project list and its workspace resources begin preparing again.
Settings → Workspace → General → Delete Workspace The Owner types the exact workspace name, then selects Delete. Runner removes the workspace and switches to another available workspace.
Settings → Workspace → Members → your row → Leave Review the named workspace dialog, then select Leave. You lose access to its projects and Runner redirects to another available workspace or chooser.
Runner-provided account-security entry → Delete Account Type DELETE MY ACCOUNT, then submit Delete Account. Runner sends the account-deletion email for the next step.

Delete one store

  1. In the intended store, open Settings → Store: store name → General and confirm the workspace and store names.
  2. Select Delete.
  3. Read the warning about store data.
  4. Type the exact store name.
  5. Select the destructive Delete button.
  6. Wait for the deletion result. Confirm Runner has opened another store or the new-store entry, then verify that the deleted store is no longer available.

The confirmation warns that the action cannot be reversed. Although some accounts show a separate recovery feature, it can be absent or unavailable; never delete on the assumption that Recover will appear.

Recover a store from a legacy view when available

  1. Continue only if your workspace exposes the legacy store list and its Recently deleted entry.
  2. Open Recently deleted; do not look for it in the current store navigation or guess a direct link.
  3. Match the store by name and deletion date.
  4. Select Recover project once.
  5. Wait for Project recovered and confirm the store returns to the active list.
  6. Open it only after its required workspace resources become available.

If Recently deleted is absent, no recovery path is exposed in that view. Contact support if you need help; this guide does not promise availability or a recovery window.

Delete a workspace

  1. As the workspace Owner, open Settings → Workspace → General for the exact workspace.
  2. Select Delete Workspace.
  3. Read the permanent-removal warning.
  4. Type the exact workspace name.
  5. Select Delete.
  6. Confirm Runner switches to another workspace.

The only workspace cannot be deleted. Deleting a workspace is presented as permanent and not recoverable.

Leave a workspace

  1. Open Settings → Workspace → Members.
  2. Find your row marked (you).
  3. Select Leave if available.
  4. Confirm the workspace name and select Leave in the dialog.
  5. Confirm you are redirected away and no longer have its project access.

Leaving does not delete the workspace for its remaining members. The Owner row does not offer this Leave action on the Members page.

Request account deletion

  1. Use the account-security entry supplied by Runner or an approved link from Runner support.
  2. If no approved entry is available, stop and contact support; do not guess or type a direct URL.
  3. Select Delete Account.
  4. Type DELETE MY ACCOUNT exactly.
  5. Submit the destructive button.
  6. Check the account email for the deletion flow.

This request is broader than deleting one store or workspace. Review Security and sessions before continuing.

Troubleshooting

  • A disabled final button means the confirmation text does not match exactly or the action is still running.
  • A deletion error does not prove that nothing changed. Refresh the active list and check the item before retrying.
  • Recovering… locks other Recover buttons until the current request finishes.
  • If recovery reports an error, check the active and recently deleted lists before retrying.
  • If Leave reports an error, verify your current access and workspace before retrying.
  • If the account deletion email is unclear, do not repeat the request; verify the signed-in email and use support guidance.
