Create a Runner Store

Create a new store whose storefront and store backend are provisioned by Runner.

What this covers: You will create a new Runner project and arrive in its project conversation.

Use Build new when you are starting from an idea and do not need to keep Shopify checkout.

Entry path: Workspace Home+ StoreBuild new.

Before you start

  • You must be signed in to an active workspace.
  • Your workspace must have room for another store.
  • Enter a name that clearly identifies the store to your team.

Create Store controls

Control Why it is useful What happens after you select it
Build new Chooses Runner’s native store path. The form keeps only the fields needed for a Runner store.
Store Name Names the project in your workspace. Create becomes available after the name is valid.
Create Confirms the new store. Runner creates the project and navigates to its conversation.
Cancel or close Leaves without creating a store. The dialog closes and the workspace stays unchanged.

Create the store

  1. Open your workspace and select + Store.
  2. In Create Store, choose Build new.
  3. Enter the Store Name.
  4. Select Create.
  5. Wait for the new project to open.
  6. Tell Runner what you want the store to sell and how it should look.

Creating the project does not publish it. Runner still needs your request before it can build a storefront preview.

Troubleshooting

State Meaning What to do
Create is disabled A required value is missing or invalid, or creation is already running. Review Store Name and wait for any pending action.
Upgrade message The workspace has reached its current store limit. Open the plan information shown by Runner or cancel the dialog.
Workspace access has lapsed New stores cannot be created in that workspace. Follow the workspace reactivation or plan path shown on screen.
Creation failed Runner could not finish creating the project. Keep the intended name, return to the workspace, and try once more.
